Unfortunately, I didn't get to finish it despite a mad dash to just play main story missions. I only rented Sleeping Dogs after having a ton of fun playing just the demo on XBLM, but I played it for three days straight. Sleeping Dogs was suppose to be the next True Crime: Hong Kong, but forever reason, it was switched to a different developers, needed a fresh perspective, or whatever, but, bottom line, it worked. So after trying repeatedly to play, I ended up just giving up on it. I tried to play it, but the game would freeze up every 30 minutes or so. True Crime: New York City was a very poorly developed game.
Sleeping dogs cars upgrade#
You could upgrade your fighting ability in a dojo and it was a lot of fun. It was a sandbox type game where you could drive around an open world and as you went from mission to mission, you would get side missions or radio calls on your police radio for help. Does any one remember that game series? I had played the first game on the GameCube, and played the sequel, True Crime: New York City, on Xbox1. Originally this game was being developed as the latest True Crime game.

The story for this game is that you are an undercover cop sent in to infiltrate the Triad gangs of Hong Kong. Not because it is a third person sandbox game. Is it because if you don't make an outrageously ridiculous sandbox that is like a comic book and superhero, it has to be close to reality and therefore be a GTA clone? Well, I'm going to review this game on it's merits alone, not compare them to GTA, although I will make a comparison to other games later on, but only for gameplay similarities. Why is that? You don't compare Prototype or Crackdown to GTA, but yet this game will be. This game will undoubtedly be compared to Grand Theft Auto.
